Roman Kashpur, a war veteran from Vinnytsia region, has set two new national records, according to Vinnytsia regional administration’s first deputy head Nataliia Zabolotna on August 30.

Kashpur established a record for the fastest marathon completed on a prosthetic, clocking 3 hours, 55 minutes, and 2 seconds at the Berlin Marathon.

He also became the first Ukrainian para-athlete to finish all six of the world’s major prestige marathons on a prosthetic.

In total, Kashpur has run seven international marathons in London, Washington, New York, Tokyo, Berlin, Chicago, and Boston. Over the past two years, he has covered more than 4,000 kilometers on a prosthetic.

At several of these events, he surpassed the standing Ukrainian record on four separate occasions. “Now the award has finally found its hero,” Zabolotna noted.

“Roman Kashpur is an example of remarkable determination and resilience. We are all proud of his incredible achievements,” Zabolotna added, thanking his coaches for their support.

Earlier, it was reported that Ukrainian veterans Artur Mylin and Illia Pylypenko won bronze medals in wheelchair basketball at the Invictus Games 2025.
