Watch: Ukrainian Barracuda Drone Slams Into Russian Shore Supply Depot, Triggering Massive Blast

A Ukrainian-made Barracuda multi-purpose drone destroyed a Russian shoreline logistics hub on the Dnipro River, according to video released by the 40th Coastal Defense Brigade of the Marine Corps on November 20.

The footage shows the drone skimming toward a Russian riverfront position before detonating on impact. Based on the size of the explosion, Ukrainian forces said the site likely stored ammunition.

Ukraine first revealed the Barracuda platform in late August. The drone was designed and built by fighters from the Barracuda unit within the 40th Brigade, and it has since become one of the more versatile systems in frontline service.
Developers say the drone uses a modular architecture, allowing crews to equip it with different types of munitions, including single-shot grenade launchers, improvised strike payloads, or naval mines. The platform also incorporates AI-assisted navigation and targeting elements, according to the unit.

In earlier footage released by the brigade, the Barracuda was shown dropping marine mines into narrow waterways between river islands and conducting precision strikes with mounted grenade systems.
Ukrainian Marines suggest the drone can also support logistical missions, including delivering supplies to isolated positions across the Dnipro’s network of islands—a critical capability as fighting intensifies along the river.
Earlier, following the meeting between Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the two countries announced the initiation of joint production of unmanned surface vessels for Ukraine’s armed forces at Greek shipyards.
