According to Ukrainian Presidential spokesperson Serhii Nykyforov, after brief opening remarks, Zelenskyy and Trump proceeded to a closed-door meeting. A joint phone call with European leaders is scheduled to follow.

Earlier, Zelenskyy said he intended to raise all sensitive aspects of the peace process with Trump, including the remaining unresolved issues of territory and the future management of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.

Speaking to reporters ahead of the talks, Trump dismissed a question about security guarantees as “dumb,” before adding that “There will be a security agreement. It will be a strong agreement. The European nations are very much involved in that.”

He concluded that European leaders “have been really great” and described them as “terrific people.”

Trump said he does not have a fixed deadline for reaching a peace agreement, but suggested negotiations may be nearing a conclusion.

“I believe they’re in the final stages of talking, and a quick end to the war could be possible,” Trump said.

Responding to another question, Trump added that he thinks “We can move very rapidly.”

He reiterated that discussions with European leaders would follow the Zelenskyy meeting.

Asked why he traveled to Florida, Zelenskyy said he hopes the discussions will “bring peace as quick as possible.”

He confirmed that approximately 90% of Ukraine’s 20-point peace plan has already been agreed upon by Ukrainian and US teams, with remaining talks expected to focus on territorial issues.

Following the meeting, Trump said he plans to resume direct contact with Vladimir Putin.

“We’re going to have a great meeting today,” Trump said. “I believe we have the makings of a deal that’s good for Ukraine and good for everybody. There’s nothing more important.”

Zelenskyy also indicated that coordination with European leaders, including UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, would continue as part of the broader diplomatic track.

The Mar-a-Lago meeting comes as Washington intensifies efforts to shape a framework for ending the war, with US officials signaling that the upcoming days could prove pivotal for the future of Ukraine and European security.

Earlier, Zelenskyy said Ukraine will coordinate its position with European partners ahead of his meeting with US President Donald Trump, stressing that security guarantees and Ukraine’s territorial integrity remain key priorities.
