Zelenskyy: Ceding to Putin Is Europe’s Suicide
Addressing the European Political Community summit in Budapest, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that the concept of “peace through strength” has repeatedly proven its realism and effectiveness. Now, it is needed once again.
“Since the European Political Community Summit in Britain in July, there has been much talk about the need to yield to Putin, to back down, to make some ‘concessions.’ And some of you present here strongly advocated Ukraine making ‘concessions’ to Putin,” Zelenskyy wrote.
“It’s unacceptable for Ukraine and suicidal for all Europe. And what’s next? Should Europe seek the favor of Kim Jong Un in hopes that he, too, will leave Europe in peace? No strong leader who helped build a united, strong, and peaceful Europe would even imagine doing this. But the concept of “peace through strength” has proven its realism and effectiveness more than once. Now, it is needed once more.”
Zelenskyy stated that during the European Political Community (EPC) forum on November 7. The EPC is an intergovernmental forum created in 2022, following Russia's invasion of Ukraine. It aims to foster political discussions on Europe's future and strengthen the continent’s security. The meeting is taking place in Budapest on November 7.
Earlier, Ukraine’s President's Office expressed doubts about the credibility of the peace plan attributed to the advisers of US President-elect Donald Trump, which allegedly includes freezing the front line and forgoing NATO membership for Ukraine.
