Russian leader Vladimir Putin is not preparing to end the war, but instead is repositioning forces for new offensive operations, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in his evening address on August 11, as reported by RBC-Ukraine on the same day.

“I received an intelligence briefing today on what Putin is counting on and what he is actually preparing for. These are military preparations,” Zelenskyy stated.

“He is certainly not preparing for a ceasefire or to end the war. Putin is focused only on presenting a meeting with America as his personal victory and then continuing to act as before — pressuring Ukraine as before.”

Zelenskyy stressed there are no signs that Russian forces are preparing for a post-war scenario.

“On the contrary, they are redeploying their troops and assets to begin new offensive operations. If someone is preparing for peace, they don’t do this. We continue to inform partners about the real situation on the battlefield, in diplomacy, and in Russia’s planning for further actions,” he added.

Earlier, it was reported that NATO vowed to keep arming Ukraine regardless of whether the upcoming Trump–Putin talks succeed or collapse.
