Daily Update: Russia Loses 1,150 Troops, 32 Artillery Systems and 12 Armored Vehicles in One Day

Russian forces lost another 1,150 troops over the past 24 hours, along with tanks, armored vehicles, artillery systems, and 41 cruise missiles, according to figures released by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on May 15.
The latest battlefield assessment also reported 257 combat engagements along the front line during the same period, including 39 clashes in the strategically important Pokrovsk sector, which remains one of the hottest areas of fighting in eastern Ukraine.

According to the Ukrainian military, Russia’s total estimated losses since the start of the full-scale invasion in February 2022 have now reached roughly 1,346,390 personnel.
The updated figures also include the destruction of four Russian tanks, 12 armored combat vehicles, 32 artillery systems, one multiple-launch rocket system, one air defense system, and seven ground robotic platforms.
Ukraine’s military additionally reported the loss of 1,780 operational-tactical drones, 185 military vehicles and fuel tankers, and one additional piece of special equipment.

One of the most notable figures in the latest update was the reported destruction of 41 Russian cruise missiles in a single day, amid continued large-scale aerial attacks and increasingly intense missile and drone warfare between the two sides.
The Pokrovsk direction in the Donetsk region remains a focal point of Russia’s offensive operations, with Moscow continuing attempts to pressure Ukrainian defenses through repeated infantry assaults backed by artillery and drone strikes.
Earlier, reports emerged that increased drone production and improved technology allowed Ukraine to destroy twice as many Russian air defenses and radars in April as in October 2025.
These expanding gaps in Russia’s defensive umbrella weaken both the front lines and the rear. The front loses supplies as ammunition and equipment warehouses are hit, while the rear is left vulnerable to strikes on energy infrastructure and military-industrial sites.
