Ukrainian Special Operations Forces (SOF) struck a Russian military storage facility, triggering a powerful explosion and extensive secondary detonations that prompted Russian troops to question whether a nuclear weapon had been used.

According to Ukraine’s 73rd Naval Special Operations Center on November 2, its operators carried out the strike and released footage of the operation on the unit’s official Facebook page.

The video shows a large explosion at the targeted facility, followed by further detonations. The Ukrainian unit reported that the strike caused significant damage and prompted reactions from Russian personnel.

“Did they drop a nuke there?!” one of the voices attributed to Russian troops can be heard asking in the footage, reacting to the scale of the explosion. The remark was a reaction to the blast, not an indication that a nuclear weapon had been used.

The exact location of the strike, the type of weapons used, and the extent of Russian military losses have not been disclosed. The footage does not independently establish the quantity or type of military supplies destroyed.

Earlier, on October 28, Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence Directorate (HUR) reported that its GROUP 10 special forces unit had killed 108 Russian soldiers, captured 29 others, and struck 1,100 Russian targets during a weeklong operation in the Sumy region. The mission also reportedly secured more than 600 hectares (1,480 acres) of territory previously held by Russian forces.
