A large-scale Ukrainian drone attack overnight into June 25 reportedly covered nearly 20 Russian regions at once, stretching from border areas to the Moscow region and temporarily occupied Crimea, according to Russia’s Defense Ministry on June 24.

Moscow claimed that Russian air defenses intercepted and destroyed 323 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones overnight.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, drones were allegedly downed over the Astrakhan, Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Volgograd, Kaluga, Kursk, Lipetsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Oryol, Orenburg, Penza, Smolensk, and Tula regions, as well as the Moscow region, Krasnodar Krai, and temporarily occupied Crimea.

Russia also claimed that drones were destroyed over the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea.

As usual, Russian officials did not disclose the full scale of damage caused by the attacks.

Explosions were reported overnight in Russia’s Orenburg region, where a local gas processing plant—one of the largest in Russia—may have come under attack.

Local authorities confirmed a drone attack in the region. Russian officials also introduced the “Kover” airspace restriction regime and temporarily suspended operations at airports in Orenburg, Orsk, and Yasny.

Russian-occupied Crimea also came under a major overnight attack.

In addition to reported strikes on Sevastopol’s energy infrastructure, explosions and large fires were recorded at Russian military facilities in Bakhchysarai and Kerch.

The attack adds to a growing pattern of long-range Ukrainian drone operations targeting Russian energy, military, logistics, and air defense infrastructure far beyond the front line.

Earlier, a Ukrainian missile strike was reported in the Russian city of Voronezh, with a local semiconductor manufacturing facility coming under attack.

The plant is described as a producer of electronic components used in air defense missile-gun systems “Pantsir,” as well as parts for “Iskander-K” and Kh-101 missiles.
