Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov claimed that Moscow has not received specific details regarding the energy ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia announced by US President Donald Trump, arguing that Russia cannot be accused of violating an agreement.

Speaking to Russian state media on October 14, Peskov said that Trump's proposal had not been formally defined, leaving Moscow without clear information about its conditions.

“The energy ceasefire proposed by Trump has not been specified, so it cannot be claimed that Russia is failing to comply with it,” Peskov said, according to Russian Telegram channel Vy slushali .

The Kremlin spokesperson added that “work in this direction is ongoing.”

Peskov's remarks come amid accusations from Ukrainian officials that Russia has continued striking Ukraine's energy infrastructure despite Trump's announcement of a proposed pause in such attacks.

On October 13, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Kyiv had refrained from targeting Russian oil refineries and other energy facilities for two consecutive days following the announcement, while Moscow continued attacking Ukrainian civilian and critical infrastructure.

“Ukraine has not carried out strikes on Russian oil refineries or the energy sector in general for the two days since the American President announced an energy ceasefire. But Russia did not heed the American President,” Zelenskyy stated.

The continued attacks were highlighted on October 14, when Russian forces struck all three combined heat and power plants in Kyiv during a large-scale missile attack that also targeted energy infrastructure in Kharkiv and the surrounding region.

According to Ukrainian Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi, Russian ballistic missiles hit energy facilities in Kyiv, Kharkiv, and the Kharkiv region. Additional strikes targeted critical infrastructure in the Kyiv region responsible for supplying electricity to the capital and other parts of central Ukraine.
