Ukrainian defense company SkyFall has unveiled Thor Hammer, a new middle-range strike drone already in combat use that can fly as far as 600 kilometers, carry a warhead weighing up to 50 kilograms, and cost as little as $25,000 per aircraft.

SkyFall disclosed details of the system to Militarnyi on October 1, revealing two primary versions with ranges of up to 350 and 600 kilometers.

Depending on configuration, each drone costs approximately $25,000 to $30,000 and can reach speeds of up to 180 kilometers per hour.

The drone has a 3.5-meter wingspan and measures roughly three meters long. Its maximum operating altitude reaches about 4,000 meters, while crews can prepare the system for launch in approximately 18 minutes.

Thor Hammer can carry fragmentation, high-explosive fragmentation and other warhead configurations depending on the target.

Launch options include a catapult or rocket-assisted takeoff, allowing the system to operate from fixed sites or mobile launchers mounted on trucks and other vehicles. Mobile crews can therefore relocate quickly after launching.

The drone can also be equipped with Starlink or other protected communications systems depending on mission requirements.

Its navigation suite combines satellite, inertial, and backup positioning systems designed to keep the aircraft flying even in areas affected by intense Russian electronic warfare.

Thor Hammer follows its programmed route autonomously while transmitting live video to its operator.

As the drone approaches its target, the system alerts the operator, who makes the final decision on whether to engage.

Once the target is confirmed, onboard artificial intelligence and computer-vision algorithms can automatically correct the drone’s final trajectory.

SkyFall says terminal guidance can continue even if radio and video communications are completely lost, giving the drone a degree of autonomy during the final stage of the strike.

Much of Thor Hammer’s core electronics was developed internally by SkyFall. The company’s R&D team is also working on domestically developed engines for the middle-strike class, reducing reliance on externally sourced propulsion systems.

Thor Hammer is integrated into SkyFall’s remote-control architecture, allowing missions to be managed from a distant command post.

The company says it provides not only serial production but also its own software, operator and technician training, and around-the-clock technical support.

And SkyFall is already planning to scale the platform aggressively.

By the end of 2026, the company aims to expand production capacity to as many as 5,000 Thor Hammer drones per month.

At the same time, engineers are developing an even longer-range variant designed to fly more than 1,000 kilometers.

Previously, Ukraine’s DevDroid has put its combat unmanned ground vehicles through trials with the Italian Army, testing how Ukrainian battlefield robotics can operate alongside Italian systems and plug directly into a NATO tactical network.
