Russia Fires Ballistic Missiles and 136 Drones at Ukraine, Striking 18 Locations Overnight

Ukraine’s air defenses intercepted most of the incoming weapons, destroying five ballistic missiles, the Kh-59/69 missile, and 104 drones. However, two ballistic missiles and 27 attack drones reached their targets, with strikes recorded at 18 locations across the country. Debris from intercepted targets also fell at seven separate locations, the Air Force reported.

The overnight assault was countered by Ukrainian aviation, surface-to-air missile units, electronic warfare forces, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups.

Kyiv was among the cities targeted during the attack. According to the State Emergency Service (DSNS) and Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klitschko, fires broke out in the Desnianskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, and Solomianskyi districts after missile impacts and falling debris.

A warehouse, 10 passenger vehicles, and a truck were destroyed by fire in the Desnianskyi district. In the Shevchenkivskyi district, a four-story vacant building caught fire, while debris also ignited part of an 18-story residential building. In the Solomianskyi district, emergency crews extinguished a fire at a non-residential facility. All fires had been brought under control by the morning.

Three people were injured in the capital, with one hospitalized and two receiving outpatient treatment, according to Klitschko. Elsewhere, Russian strikes continued across multiple regions.

In Kharkiv, a Russian Banderol guided munition struck a private residential house in the city’s Slobidskyi district on the morning of July 26, according to Mayor Ihor Terekhov and Kharkiv Regional Military Administration head Oleh Syniehubov. One person was killed and nine others were injured, including two children. More than ten private homes were damaged.

Regional authorities also reported casualties from attacks carried out over the previous day. In the Kherson region, two people were killed and 24 injured after Russian strikes on civilian and critical infrastructure. The attacks also damaged Kherson’s trolleybus power network, temporarily suspending electric public transport.

In the Zaporizhzhia region, one person was killed and 12 others injured following Russian attacks on the city of Zaporizhzhia and surrounding areas.

Police in the Sumy region said one person was killed and seven wounded during Russian shelling on July 25. Among the injured was an 11-year-old girl hurt in a drone strike on the Mykolaivska community. Russian forces reportedly attacked 22 territorial communities across the region.

In the Dnipropetrovsk region, one civilian was injured after Russian forces carried out nearly 20 artillery and drone attacks across three districts. In the Donetsk region, regional authorities reported one civilian killed in the city of Druzhkivka on July 25.

The attack came two days after Russian ballistic missile strikes on Kyiv region on July 24, which killed 10 people and injured nearly 100, marking another large-scale aerial assault against Ukraine in recent days.
