Russian Strike on Ukraine’s Largest Postal Operator Injures Eight in Vinnytsia Region

A Russian strike on a branch of the postal and courier company Nova Poshta in Ukraine's Vinnytsia region on July 31 wounded eight people, three of whom were taken to intensive care.

The strike and the rising casualty toll were reported by Natalia Zabolotna, head of the Vinnytsia Regional Military Administration, on her official Telegram channel on July 31.

In an initial update, Zabolotna noted that five people had been wounded, among them a 19-year-old man in moderate condition and four others with minor injuries. She later confirmed that the number of casualties had climbed to eight, with three people in intensive care, one of them in serious condition, and five more suffering minor injuries.

"The enemy struck a Nova Poshta branch in the Vinnytsia region," Zabolotna wrote in her account of the attack.

Nova Poshta is Ukraine's largest private postal and courier operator, and its branches handle deliveries of parcels, documents, medicine, and financial transfers for civilians across the country, making them part of the everyday infrastructure of ordinary life in wartime.

Russian forces have repeatedly hit the company's facilities elsewhere in Ukraine, including a branch in the city of Dnipro that burned down completely after a drone strike at the end of May.
