A Russian military strike targeting the city of Zaporizhzhia wounded four civilians, including three children, according to Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration, on June 24.

The afternoon attack caused immediate damage to civilian property and local infrastructure within the regional capital.

Fedorov reported that the blast hit a catering establishment that was non-operational at the time, while also damaging several nearby vehicles. All four injured individuals are currently receiving emergency medical treatment, the regional official noted, as first responders remain on-site to secure the area and manage the aftermath of the strike.

Shortly before the strikes, Fedorov had warned about the threat of guided aerial bombs (KABs)  being used in the Zaporizhzhia region.

This attack follows a prior strike on Zaporizhzhia, where Russian forces deployed guided aerial bombs and attack drones against a residential district. The strike, which hit an infrastructure facility, a service station, and nearby homes, killed 12 people and injured 16 others.

Operational reports revealed that the attack utilized a “double-tap” tactic, with explosive drones intentionally directed at the impact sites after emergency services, police, and medical personnel had arrived to treat the wounded and clear the debris.
