The station was temporarily closed, with trains passing through without stopping as repair crews worked at the site. Damage and fires were recorded in the Desnianskyi, Dniprovskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, and Solomianskyi districts.
Local monitoring groups claimed that Russia launched around 40 ballistic missiles—including Iskander-M, Zircon, and S-400 missiles—toward Kyiv over approximately 40 minutes. Ukrainian officials had not immediately confirmed the reported number or full composition of the attack.
In Sumy, Russian forces launched seven guided aerial bombs at civilian and industrial areas, according to Sumy Regional Governor Oleh Hryhorov on July 19.

Three people were hospitalized after strikes in the city’s Kovpakivskyi district. Rescue teams were searching the rubble for at least one person who may have been trapped inside a damaged building.
Separately, 13 people—including two children—were injured in Russian attacks on Zaporizhzhia and the surrounding region over the previous 24 hours, hromadske reported on July 19, citing Zaporizhzhia Regional Governor Ivan Fedorov.

Russian forces carried out 1,041 strikes against 54 settlements in the region. The attacks included 25 airstrikes, 729 drone attacks—primarily using FPV drones—one multiple-launch rocket system strike, and 286 artillery strikes.
Guided aerial bombs hit residential areas of Zaporizhzhia, destroying or damaging private homes and auxiliary buildings. Other attacks struck warehouses, started a fire at a food industry facility, and damaged a university building.
A Russian drone also struck a passenger train in the Zaporizhzhia region, injuring a conductor, Ukrinform reported on July 19, citing Ukraine’s state railway operator Ukrzaliznytsia.

A railway monitoring team ordered passengers and crew to evacuate before the strike, preventing further casualties. Passengers were transferred to buses to continue their journey to Zaporizhzhia, while Ukrzaliznytsia warned that additional bus and commuter-train transfers could be introduced in the region.
Earlier, Russian forces carried out a double drone strike on a passenger train in Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region, damaging its locomotive and passenger cars. All passengers and railway personnel were evacuated before the attack, preventing casualties.
