Russian Strikes Kill Two in Kharkiv, Set Dnipro High-Rise Ablaze

Russian strikes hit residential areas in Kharkiv and Dnipro on October 2, killing two people and injuring dozens.
In Kharkiv, three guided aerial bombs struck residential neighborhoods, killing two women aged 66 and 80, according to Mayor Ihor Terekhov and regional governor Oleh Syniehubov. Another 32 people were injured in the attack. Emergency services remain on the scene managing the aftermath of the strike. Ten of the injured individuals required hospitalization, though none are in critical condition.

Later in the evening, around 8:00 p.m. Kyiv time, Russian forces targeted the city of Dnipro, striking a residential high-rise building and causing a fire.
Three women sustained injuries in the attack in Dnipro, including a 77-year-old woman who is receiving necessary medical care, according to Oleksandr Hanzha, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration.
Rescuers have saved six people from the multi-story structure so far and have evacuated residents from the upper floors. Hanzha stated that emergency services are working at the site while search and rescue operations remain active.
"We are clarifying information on the victims. A rescue operation is underway at the site of the enemy strike in Dnipro. Rescuers are evacuating people from the upper floors of the damaged high-rise," Hanzha said.
Emergency personnel and local responder services remain on the scene to manage the consequences of the hit.

"The rescue operation is ongoing. Six people have already been saved from the multi-story building. Three injured women have been reported so far," Hanzha noted in a later update while sharing footage from inside the affected building.
Russian forces targeted the Nikopol and Synelnykove districts of Dnipropetrovsk Region more than 30 times throughout the day on October 2.
Attacks involved drones, artillery strikes, and an aerial bomb, causing damage to local homes, infrastructure, and a cargo vehicle, while also igniting a fire, the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration reported.
In Nikopol district, the strikes hit the city of Nikopol alongside the Marhanets, Chervonohryhorivka, and Pokrovske communities. Damaged property included an apartment complex, a private home, infrastructure facilities, and a truck, with a fire breaking out following the bombardments.

On September 10, Russian forces struck Pavlohrad in the Dnipropetrovsk region, killing at least four people and injuring 60 others, including three children.
The attack occurred around 4:25 p.m. when drones targeted the area, damaging commercial pavilions and vehicles. Head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration stated that all the wounded were under medical supervision, while Russian forces also launched a third attack that same day on Dnipro, setting grocery warehouses ablaze.
