Ukraine Cripples Russian Drone Command Posts and Military Supply Lines

Ukraine’s Defense Forces carried out overnight strikes on several Russian military targets in occupied Ukraine and Russia’s Kursk region, including drone command posts, a logistics crossing, and a military supply depot, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on August 5.

The General Staff said Ukrainian forces struck Russian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) command posts near Mali Shcherbaky in the Zaporizhzhia region, Kostiantynivka, Chasiv Yar, and Zelene Pole in the Donetsk region, as well as Volfinsky in Russia’s Kursk region. A separate strike also targeted a Russian command post near Bakhmut in the Donetsk region.
According to the General Staff, Ukrainian forces also hit a crossing over the Mokri Yaly River near the village of Vesele in the Donetsk region. The military said Russian forces had been using the crossing to move personnel, weapons, and logistical supplies.

In addition, the General Staff reported a strike on a Russian military logistics warehouse in the village of Ishun in the Perekop district of temporarily occupied Crimea.
“UAV command posts of the occupiers were struck in the areas of Mali Shcherbaky in the Zaporizhzhia region, Kostiantynivka, Chasiv Yar, and Zelene Pole in the Donetsk region, as well as Volfinsky in Russia’s Kursk region.”
The Ukrainian military did not specify what weapons were used in the operation or provide an assessment of the damage inflicted on the targeted sites.
The strikes come amid an intensified Ukrainian campaign targeting Russian military infrastructure. On August 4, the Security Service of Ukraine said it had completed a 40-day operation that struck more than 100 strategic targets, including airbases, command posts, air defense systems, oil refineries, logistics hubs, and military-industrial facilities across Russia and temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories.
