Ukraine’s New Varkhan Robot Delivers Cargo Where Sending Personnel Would Be Too Risky

Ukraine has codified the domestically produced Varkhan ground robotic complex and approved it for use by the Defense Forces, Oboronka reported on September 24.
The platform had already entered serial production and was operating in combat conditions, according to the outlet.

The information came from Air3F, the Ukrainian company that produces the system.
“Varkhan successfully operates in combat conditions, carrying out logistics missions on the front,” Air3F said in a statement cited by Oboronka.
The company said the ground robot is used to deliver essential cargo to positions where sending personnel would be too risky.
Oboronka reported that Varkhan can carry up to 300 kilograms and travel up to 37 kilometers while loaded, or up to 50 kilometers without cargo. The 4×4 platform can reach speeds of up to 20 km/h and operate for up to 72 hours.
The system uses a protected analog radio link and can also operate through Starlink and LTE networks, according to Oboronka. It is equipped with infrared illumination for nighttime missions.
Air3F said codification will allow the company to scale production and expand deliveries of Varkhan systems to Ukraine’s Defense Forces.
The approval comes as Ukrainian forces rapidly expand their use of ground robotic systems for frontline logistics, evacuation, and other missions.
Unmanned ground vehicles completed more than 25,000 logistics and evacuation missions in August alone, up from 7,511 in January.
The total since the start of 2026 has reached roughly 112,000 missions. Kyiv also aims to build at least 50,000 combat and logistics ground robots this year to reinforce infantry and offset manpower shortages.
