Ukrainian Su-27 Strike Destroys Russian Command Post and Kills Drone Operators

Ukraine’s Air Force has destroyed a Russian command post along with personnel, including drone operators, in an airstrike carried out by a Su-27 fighter jet, Ukraine’s 39th Tactical Aviation Brigade said on August 13.

According to the brigade, a Ukrainian Air Force pilot struck the Russian command post where military personnel, including unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) operators, were stationed.
The aircraft crew used two guided aerial bombs in the strike, the brigade said.
The target was completely destroyed, and the Russian personnel inside were killed, according to the Ukrainian military.
The brigade said the destruction of the command post disrupted the Russian units’ ability to maintain command and coordinate their operations. The loss of the UAV operators also reduced Russia’s capabilities to conduct reconnaissance and operate drones, it added.
In a separate operation in the Vovchansk direction, Ukrainian drone operators destroyed two Russian 2S19 Msta-S self-propelled howitzers, Ukraine’s 57th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade said on August 13.
According to the brigade, the two artillery systems were positioned behind the front line but were detected and subsequently destroyed by Ukrainian drone operators.
