Unidentified Airborne Object Enters Moldovan Airspace, Marking Third Violation in a Single Day

An airborne object entering from the direction of Ukraine crossed into Moldovan airspace on September 30, marking the third such violation recorded in a single day, according to the Ministry of Defense of Moldova.

Monitoring systems detected the object crossing the border at 8:45 p.m. from the village of Shershentsi in the Vinnytsia region, moving toward the settlement of Slobozia Rașcov in the Transnistria region.

The object subsequently tracked toward the village of Țipova before radar tracking was lost in the vicinity of the village of Brănești, located in the Orhei District.

The aerial breach prompted authorities to temporarily close the airspace over the central region of the country as a security measure. Flight operations were restored at 9:09 p.m.

"The Air Operations Service continues to monitor the airspace of the Republic of Moldova in coordination with competent authorities and partners," the ministry stated.

Moldova has witnessed a significant increase in drones straying into its territory over the past few weeks. On August 27, five drones crossed into Moldovan airspace during an overnight Russian assault, the first entering near Biliaivka and tracking toward Palanca in the Ștefan Vodă district before turning back to Ukraine.
