Ukraine’s Robot Army Has Already Completed 50,000 Battlefield Missions This Year

Ukrainian ground robotic systems have carried out more than 50,000 logistics and medical evacuation missions since the beginning of 2026, according to Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense on June 10.

The ministry reported that the use of unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) has grown steadily throughout the year. Monthly missions increased from more than 7,500 in January to over 14,000 in May, while the number of military units operating ground robots nearly doubled, rising from 117 to 230.
Ukrainian soldiers have conducted over 50,000 UGV missions since the start of this year alone. Unmanned ground vehicles are completely transforming logistics and casualty evacuation in high-risk zones.

According to Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, the figures are based on verified operational data collected through Ukraine’s military reporting system.
“Thanks to e-Points, we can see verified results of their use and more quickly scale the most effective practices across the entire military,” Fedorov said.
The Ministry of Defense stated that ground robots are now regularly performing logistics and casualty evacuation tasks in high-risk areas. The systems are used to deliver supplies, support frontline logistics, and evacuate wounded personnel in locations where deploying troops would create additional danger.

Fedorov said expanding the use of ground robotic systems remains one of the ministry’s priorities. Military units that employ the platforms receive so-called “e-Points,” which can be exchanged through the Brave1 Market platform for drones, robotic systems, electronic warfare equipment, and components.
The minister also announced that Ukraine plans to contract 25,000 ground robotic systems during the first half of 2026.
“We are actively scaling ground robotic systems on the battlefield and increasing state procurement. In the first half of 2026, we are contracting 25,000 systems that are gradually being delivered to the front. This is twice as many as during the whole of 2025. Following the President’s directive, we continue to secure Ukraine’s technological advantage and strike the enemy on the battlefield,” Fedorov stated.

The announcement comes as Ukraine continues efforts to accelerate procurement of robotic systems. On May 29, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed legislation exempting purchases of ground robotic platforms for the Defense Forces from value-added tax, a measure intended to improve the efficiency of defense spending and increase deliveries to the military.
The growing role of ground robots is already evident in frontline operations. According to Ukrainian military officials, units of the Third Army Corps operating on the Lyman-Borova axis have conducted more than 18,000 UGV missions over the past year, evacuating more than 600 wounded personnel and transporting approximately 4,500 tons of cargo.
