Special forces and aviation units of Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence (HUR) have launched a complex airborne operation in the city of Pokrovsk, Suspilne reported on October 31, citing sources within the Defense Forces.

According to the source, HUR assault units entered areas of Pokrovsk that Russian commanders had earlier declared “captured.” These districts are considered strategically important for Ukrainian logistics, and several helicopters are reportedly involved in the operation.

The head of Ukraine’s military intelligence, Kyrylo Budanov, is said to be on site, personally overseeing the mission.

During a briefing on October 31, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russian forces had concentrated about 170,000 troops near Pokrovsk, describing the situation in the area as extremely difficult.

Previously, Zelenskyy identified Pokrovsk as the primary focus of Russian military aggression, with intense fighting ongoing in and around the city.
