Daily Update: Russia Loses 1,020 Troops, 3 Tanks, and 917 Drones in Ukraine

Russian forces suffered significant losses over the past 24 hours, including more than a thousand troops killed or wounded, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on January 26.
Ukrainian military officials said Russian losses for the day totaled 1,020 personnel, alongside multiple tanks, artillery systems, and a large number of drones.

According to the General Staff’s estimates, Russia’s cumulative combat losses since the start of the full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, through January 26, 2026, are approximately:
personnel: about 1,235,060 (+1,020);
tanks: 11,608 (+3);
armored combat vehicles: 23,951 (+1);
artillery systems: 36,644 (+32);
multiple launch rocket systems: 1,626 (+2);
air defense systems: 1,286 (no change);
fixed-wing aircraft: 434 (no change);
helicopters: 347 (no change);
operational-tactical drones: 115,813 (+917);
cruise missiles: 4,205 (no change);
warships and boats: 28 (no change);
submarines: 2 (no change);
military vehicles and fuel trucks: 75,906 (+147);
special equipment: 4,051 (+1).
The General Staff also reported 138 combat engagements along the front lines over the past day.

According to updated operational data as of 8:00 a.m. on January 26, Russian forces carried out 89 airstrikes, dropping 237 guided aerial bombs. In addition, they conducted 3,681 attacks on Ukrainian military positions and populated areas, including 63 strikes using multiple launch rocket systems, and launched 7,789 loitering munitions.
Earlier, reports emerged that Russia suffered catastrophic battlefield losses in December 2025, with as many as 1,000 soldiers killed each day, according to internal alliance data cited by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
