Daily Update: Russia Loses 1,030 Troops, Five Tanks, and 63 Artillery Systems in One Day

Russian forces lost an estimated 1,030 troops killed and wounded over the past 24 hours, Ukraine’s General Staff reported on April 8.

According to the latest figures, total Russian losses since the start of the full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, have reached approximately 1,306,500 personnel.

Over the same period, Russian forces are reported to have lost 5 tanks, 4 armored combat vehicles, and 63 artillery systems. Ukrainian forces also destroyed 1 multiple launch rocket system and 1 air defense system, according to the General Staff.

Drone losses remained high, with 1,960 operational-tactical UAVs reportedly neutralized in a single day. In addition, 241 vehicles and fuel tankers were destroyed, along with 2 pieces of special equipment.

Cumulative Russian losses now include 11,846 tanks, 24,368 armored combat vehicles, and 39,625 artillery systems. Other reported losses include 1,723 multiple launch rocket systems, 1,341 air defense systems, 435 aircraft, and 350 helicopters.

Cruise missile losses stand at 4,517, while Russia has also lost 33 ships or boats and 2 submarines since the beginning of the invasion.

The General Staff reported 170 combat engagements along the front line over the past day, including 32 on the Kostiantynivka direction, indicating continued intense fighting across key sectors.

Overall, Russian forces have been attempting to capture the city of Kostiantynivka in Ukraine’s Donetsk region for nearly a year but have failed to advance, with Ukrainian troops continuing to hold their positions.
