Daily Update: Russia Loses 1,360 Troops, 3 Tanks, 25 Artillery Systems in One Day

Russian forces lost an estimated 1,360 personnel over the past day, Ukraine’s General Staff reported in its morning update on February 26.

According to the Ukrainian military, total Russian combat losses since the start of the full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, are estimated at:

  • personnel—about 1,263,850 (+1,360);

  • tanks—11,704 (+3);

  • armored combat vehicles—24,091 (0);

  • artillery systems—37,614 (+25);

  • MLRS—1,659 (+4);

  • air defense systems—1,305 (0);

  • aircraft—435 (0);

  • helicopters—348 (0);

  • operational-tactical UAVs—147,138 (+681);

  • cruise missiles—4,347 (0);

  • warships/boats—29 (0);

  • submarines—2 (0);

  • vehicles and fuel tankers—80,064 (+93);

  • special equipment—4,075 (0).

The General Staff also reported 235 combat engagements along the frontline over the previous 24 hours, underscoring sustained pressure across key operational directions.

Operational information released as of 8:00 a.m. indicated continued intense fighting as Russian forces attempt to maintain offensive momentum despite mounting losses, while Ukrainian troops continue defensive and counter-action operations across contested sectors.

Earlier, Ukrainian special forces from the Defense Intelligence Directorate’s “Artan” unit, working alongside other formations of Ukraine’s Armored Forces, regained control of several frontline positions near the settlement of Stepnohirsk in the Zaporizhzhia region.
