Russia’s continued attacks on Ukraine in recent days show that Moscow has no real interest in peace, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said during a meeting of Nordic leaders in Finland, according to Reuters on May 26.

“During the day Putin talks about negotiations, then he bombs Ukraine during the night,” Frederiksen stated.

She added that the leaders of Northern European countries have agreed to support Ukraine for as long as necessary. That support, she said, could include military assistance, investments in Ukraine’s defense industry, and cooperation with Ukrainian companies.

In the early hours of May 24, Russia launched a combined missile and drone strike on Kyiv, firing 14 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles and 250 attack drones across Ukraine. Air defenses intercepted six of the missiles and neutralized 245 drones.

The following night, on May 25, Russian forces attacked 13 regions across Ukraine using dozens of ballistic and cruise missiles, along with roughly 300 drones.

Then, on the night of May 26, Russia launched a record number of attack drones and cruise missiles targeting Ukrainian territory.

Earlier, the Kremlin dismissed US President Donald Trump’s recent criticism of Russian leader Vladimir Putin over strikes on Ukraine as a product of "emotional overload."
