EU Mission and British Council in Kyiv Damaged in Deadly Russian Missile Strike

A Russian overnight missile strike that killed at least 14 people, including a child, also damaged the European Union mission in Ukraine, prompting Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha to call for firm international condemnation in a post on X on August 28.
“Whatever Putin said in Alaska, his real actions reject diplomacy, dialogue, and peace efforts,” Ukraine’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha wrote.
Sybiha noted that the strikes targeted diplomats, damaging the EU mission to Ukraine in direct violation of the Vienna Convention.

He stressed that this attack requires condemnation not only from the EU, but from the global community, adding that Ukraine stands in solidarity with its EU partners and is ready to provide assistance.
