Iran-backed armed groups used FPV drones to strike US military equipment at the Victory Camp Complex in Iraq, damaging a Black Hawk helicopter and a radar system linked to the NASAMS air defense platform.

According to Defense Express on March 25, video footage circulating online shows a drone hitting a US helicopter identified as a UH-60M Black Hawk while it was stationed on a landing pad. The footage does not show any visible interception attempt or the presence of personnel near the aircraft at the time of the strike.

Defense Express reports that parts of the helicopter appear intentionally blurred in the video. Analysts cited by the outlet suggest this may have been done to obscure markings, including a red cross symbol, indicating the aircraft could be a HH-60M medical evacuation variant rather than a standard transport version.

The extent of the damage to the helicopter remains unclear. Based on the footage, the drone appears to have struck the rotor area, but confirmation of whether the aircraft was critically damaged has not been provided.

In a separate video referenced by Defense Express, a drone strike targeted an AN/MPQ-64 Sentinel radar system, which is used as part of the NASAMS air defense system. Post-strike footage shows the radar unit on fire, indicating a successful hit. The system has an instrumental detection range of up to 120 kilometers, depending on the variant.

Multiple drones may have been used in the radar attack, suggesting coordinated use of FPV systems against fixed military assets.

The outlet notes that these incidents highlight ongoing vulnerabilities of US forces to low-cost FPV drone attacks, particularly in environments where such threats have become increasingly common.

Similar footage of drone strikes on the same base was released earlier in March, although it remains unclear whether the attacks occurred separately or were part of a single operation documented over time.

Earlier, Iranian forces may have damaged a US F-35 fighter jet using a surface-to-air missile, with the aircraft reportedly remaining airborne before making an emergency landing at a US base in the Middle East.
