According to satellite imagery reviewed by missile weapons expert Fabian Hinz, a large impact crater was identified at Muwaffaq Salti Air Base—also known as Azraq—near a residential area used by deployed personnel. The facility hosts German troops alongside US and Jordanian forces.
The base, situated approximately 100 kilometers northeast of Amman, has long served as a strategic hub for US operations in the Middle East. The site plays a role in regional deterrence efforts and has been linked to planning scenarios involving Iran.

Recent satellite imagery indicates a significant increase in US military presence at the base since early 2026. The deployment reportedly includes more than 60–70 combat aircraft, such as F-35A and F-15E jets, as well as unmanned aerial systems and helicopters.
Additional air defense systems, including Patriot and THAAD, have also been installed, while multiple C-17 transport flights have delivered personnel, equipment, and munitions.
It remains unclear whether the strike that damaged the German camp was intentional. Iran has not publicly commented on this specific incident. There is also no confirmed information regarding casualties among German or other personnel stationed at the base.

Allied forces—including the United Kingdom and France—are actively involved in intercepting Iranian drones and missiles over Jordanian territory as part of ongoing joint operations.
Earlier, according to open-source intelligence reports and Turkish outlet Karar on March 13, Iran reportedly attempted to strike NATO’s Incirlik Air Base in Türkiye using ballistic missiles. The base, which hosts US and allied forces and is believed to store between 20 and 50 US B61 nuclear bombs, is considered one of NATO’s most strategically sensitive sites in the region.
