Poltava Region Reports More Three Deaths from Russian Strikes

On August 27, Filip Pronin, the Governor of Poltava Region, confirmed that three out of five individuals injured in a Russian attack on August 26 have died in the hospital. Medical personnel continue to work to save the lives of the remaining two victims.

The attack on August 26 was described by Ukraine’s Air Force as the largest since the start of the full-scale invasion, impacting 15 oblasts across Ukraine. This assault resulted in seven civilian deaths and over 40 injuries nationwide.

In Poltava Region, the initial injuries occurred when Russian forces targeted an industrial facility early on August 26. Later that day, debris from a drone strike caused damage to a residential building in the Lubny district, injuring one woman.

Earlier, On August 27, Russia continued its strikes on Ukraine, resulting in at least four deaths and 16 injuries. This follows a large-scale attack on August 26, which involved 236 missiles and drones, causing seven deaths and 47 injuries, along with significant damage to the energy infrastructure and disruptions to the rail network.

The latest attacks targeted several regions: Kryvyi Rih was hit by a missile strike, resulting in two deaths and five injuries; Zaporizhzhia experienced a drone attack that killed two and injured four; and Kyiv saw successful interceptions of incoming missiles and drones with no direct damage reported. The strikes in Khmelnytskyi and Rivne included drones and “Kinzhal” missiles aimed at energy facilities. President Zelensky condemned the ongoing attacks and reaffirmed Ukraine’s commitment to responding to these actions.
