Russia Drops Aerial Bomb on 12-Story Residential Building in Kharkiv, Causing Dozens of Injuries
Russia launched a guided aerial bomb attack on Kharkiv, targeting the Shevchenkivskyi and Saltivskyi districts, with severe damage reported, and 25 people injured, including a child, wrote city mayor Ihor Terekhov on Telegram on November 8.
A 12-story residential building was hit, with several lower floors collapsing.
30 residents, including 4 children, were evacuated from the building.
Preliminary reports indicate that 25 people were injured in the attack, one of whom is a child.
Significant destruction was also caused to neighboring structures, shops, and vehicles.
A fire broke out spanning 20 square meters, quickly contained by emergency responders.
Another bomb struck the area of a children’s store in the city center, causing significant damage to the building and surrounding area. Although the metro station directly beneath the blast site remained intact, all exits were damaged, with two severely affected.
A third bomb struck near the Sukhoi Fountain, in the square between university buildings.
The recently installed New Year’s decorations near the fountain were partially destroyed.
Ukraine’s State Emergency Service, police, municipal workers, psychological support teams, and volunteers actively conduct rescue operations on-site.
Earlier, Russia dropped 5 bombs on Zaporizhzhia, hitting a hospital killing 4 people, and injuring 33.
