Two days earlier, on March 11, a Russian drone struck a minibus in the Dnipro district of Kherson, injuring 20 people, including a teenager, as confirmed by the Kherson Regional Military Administration.

The attack, which occurred around noon, resulted in various injuries for the victims, who ranged in age from 17 to 64. The teenager was treated on-site by paramedics, while the other injured individuals were rushed to the hospital. The majority of those hurt sustained blast injuries, concussions, and shrapnel wounds.

Among the victims, a 66-year-old woman is in critical condition, having suffered an explosive injury, concussion, multiple wounds to her arms and legs, and an open fracture of the lower leg. Additionally, a 60-year-old woman from Kherson sustained a closed head injury.

Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, emphasized that the strike was a targeted attack.

“They (the Russians) knew exactly who they were aiming at and deliberately carried out the strike,” Prokudin said. This incident follows a similar attack on a passenger bus in the area earlier that day, underscoring the growing concerns over Russian strikes on civilian targets in the region.

A Russian suicide drone also struck a bus carrying workers in Marhanets, a city in Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk region, in April 2025, resulting in at least nine fatalities and 42 injuries. The bus was en route to the workers' workplace when the drone attack occurred.
