Russian Forces Deploy Medics Into Assault Units as Manpower Crisis Worsens in Kherson

Due to a severe shortage of frontline troops, the Russian military leadership on the Kherson front has begun reassigning medical personnel to active combat roles.
Commanders of the 28th Motorized Rifle Brigade are reportedly pulling staff from medical posts and evacuation units to serve as infantry, according to partisan movement ATESH on February 27.

The shift reportedly includes general practitioners, paramedics, and nurses who are being sent into trenches with assault rifles. This decision follows a spike in Russian casualties caused by frequent Ukrainian drone strikes.
The high level of Ukrainian drone activity within a 25-kilometer zone has made the situation critical for Russian forces.
Agents noted that the drones "appear everywhere and constantly," leading to a daily increase in wounded soldiers. However, with medical staff moved to the front lines, there are fewer specialists available to treat or evacuate the injured.

The lack of medical support has resulted in an increase in both combat and non-combat losses for the Russian military. Soldiers have frequently complained about the absence of basic care.
In some instances, wounded personnel have reportedly gone months without receiving essential medical procedures or even simple bandage changes.
Earlier, Russian forces attacked a minibus in Kherson, which resulted in the death of the driver and left five passengers injured. Two men were hospitalized with mine-explosive traumas following the strike, while the regional administration reported that the Russian military continued to terrorize the local civilian population.
