Russian Molniya Drone Strikes Journalist’s Vehicle in Kharkiv, Wounding Soldiers

A Russian Molniya drone struck a vehicle 20 kilometers from the front line in the Kharkiv region. Inside were a Ukrainian Witness journalist and several soldiers on their way to film a Hyacinth-B towed artillery crew in action.
This was reported by the Ukrainian Witness.
“Oleksa Zhovtyi, a journalist with Ukrainian Witness, was traveling with Ukrainian soldiers in the Kharkiv region to film a firing position of the Hyacinth-B towed artillery operated by the 15th Rapid Response Brigade of the National Guard,” Ukrainian Witness stated.
“While en route, just 20 kilometers from the front line, their Nissan Navara pickup was struck by a Russian Molniya drone, a fixed-wing loitering munition guided by an operator in FPV mode.”
As a result of the drone strike, two soldiers sustained minor injuries, and the vehicle was left inoperable. The drone hit beneath the pickup, making the blast feel like a landmine.
The soldiers and journalist quickly took cover in a nearby building. Brigade press officer Ihor Lavrov suffered the most serious wounds.
A vehicle soon arrived to evacuate the group to a nearby village, where they awaited medical assistance.
On April 2, a Russian loitering munition hit a residential building in Kharkiv, injuring at least five people, including a 10-year-old boy. The attack involved a “Molniya” drone and targeted a high-rise building in the city’s Kyivskyi district.
