At the same time, officials in Moscow reported drone activity near the Russian capital. Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin claimed that air defenses destroyed multiple drones overnight that were “attacking Moscow.”
According to Sobyanin, four drones were allegedly intercepted shortly after 2:00 a.m. local time. He later reported additional interceptions at 2:06 a.m., 2:08 a.m., and again at 2:20 a.m., bringing the total to eight drones he said were downed overnight.
Russian authorities did not report casualties in either incident.
Earlier, strike drones attacked the Efremov Synthetic Rubber Plant in Russia’s Tula region, triggering a fire at the industrial facility.
