The Coordination Headquarters said the operation was made possible through joint efforts involving the headquarters itself, the Joint Center at the Security Service of Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the Office of the Ukrainian Parliament’s Human Rights Commissioner, the Secretariat of the Commissioner for Missing Persons under Special Circumstances, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, and other bodies within Ukraine’s security and defense sector.

The headquarters also expressed gratitude to the International Committee of the Red Cross for its assistance in facilitating the repatriation.

“Special thanks were extended to the personnel of the civil-military cooperation units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Joint Civil-Military Cooperation Support Center of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which transports the repatriated remains to designated state specialized facilities and organizes the transfer of the bodies of the fallen to law enforcement agencies within the Ministry of Internal Affairs system and to forensic medical experts within the Ministry of Health system,” the headquarters concluded.

Earlier, in December 2025, Ukraine brought back the remains of 1,003 individuals that the Russian side claims are fallen Ukrainian service members.

According to the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, the repatriated bodies will be transferred for forensic analysis and identification.
