Ukraine’s state defense conglomerate Ukroboronprom has signed an agreement with Norwegian defense company Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace (KDA) to integrate domestic air defense systems into the NASAMS architecture.

This was reported via Ukroboronprom’s Telegram on June 30.

According to the statement, the agreement focuses on combining current and future Ukrainian short- and medium-range air defense systems with the control and command modules used in NASAMS—one of the world’s most effective ground-based air defense platforms.

Ukroboronprom CEO Oleh Huliak emphasized that developing and scaling up Ukraine’s air and missile defense systems is one of the company’s unquestionable priorities.

He noted that cooperation with Norwegian defense partners marks a new step toward building a robust air shield to reliably protect strategic facilities and civilian infrastructure.

“I am confident that cooperation with KDA will become another example of successful international partnership,” Huliak concluded.

Earlier, the Ukrainian Air Force announced that NASAMS surface-to-air missile system operators intercepted 11 Russian cruise missiles in a single engagement that lasted under two minutes.

During the engagement, the NASAMS system swiftly identified and engaged the incoming missiles, showcasing what Peretiatko called a record-breaking performance in reloading and firing speed.
