Ukraine Strikes Russian Oil Facility and Missile Arsenal in Tver Region With Drones, Setting Off 20 Explosions

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and Special Operations Forces targeted the ‘Andreapol’ oil pumping station and a missile arsenal in Russia’s Tver region with drones on the night of January 29, Radio Svoboda reported, citing a source within SBU who requested anonymity.
“As a result of the drone attack, the station’s filtration and pumping platform was damaged, along with additive tanks, leading to an oil spill and fire. The strike even forced Russian authorities to halt the main pipeline supplying oil to the Ust-Luga terminal in the Leningrad region,” the outlet quoted its source.
According to the source, another target of the drone strike was the 23rd Missile Arsenal of Russia’s Ministry of Defense in the Tver region.
“The drones struck the warehouse itself and three buildings within the military unit. Local residents reported hearing over 20 explosions and wrote in community chats about evacuations,” he said.
A source within Russia’s oil pipeline company Transneft stated that operations remained unaffected and characterized the damage in the Tver region as minimal, Reuters wrote.
Ukrainian forces have ramped up drone strikes on Russian military and energy infrastructure in recent months, consistently targeting oil refineries and military storage facilities in an effort to disrupt the supply chains sustaining Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine.
On January 29, a Ukrainian drone strike targeted a Lukoil oil depot in the city of Kstovo, Nizhny Novgorod region, Russia, causing significant damage and triggering a large fire.
