Ukraine’s Brave1 Program Attracts 45 Foreign Firms to Trial Drones, AI, and Laser Weapons

Brave1, Ukraine’s defense technology cluster, has received 45 applications from foreign companies to participate in its Test in Ukraine program, head of the initiative Andrii Hrytseniuk announced during the “Arming the Transatlantic” panel at IRON DEMO 2025 on August 11.
“In Ukraine, everything happens much faster: there’s no need to wait months for testing permits, and feedback from technical and military experts comes almost instantly. This gives foreign companies a unique opportunity not just to test their product but to receive real feedback and improve the technology in the shortest possible time,” Hrytseniuk said.

The Test in Ukraine platform was launched in mid-July. It now provides foreign manufacturers of aerial and ground unmanned vehicles, maritime drones, electronic warfare systems, and AI-based products with a clear roadmap for testing their systems in Ukraine.
Companies can conduct trials directly on site, allowing for real-time adjustments, or entrust testing to Brave1’s specialists, who will carry out evaluations and deliver detailed reports to partners.
Most of the current applications came from producers of UAVs, unmanned ground vehicles, and communications and navigation systems. Other applicants include manufacturers of electronic warfare systems, laser weapons, missiles, surface drones, AI systems, and anti-drone solutions.

Hrytseniuk stressed that the launch of Test in Ukraine marks an important milestone in Ukraine–EU defense and technology cooperation.
“Ukrainian experience and innovations, proven effective on the battlefield, combined with Europe’s powerful scientific and technological base, are the key to building a defense partnership capable of meeting these challenges,” he noted.
Earlier it was reported that Ukraine has introduced the new “Bagnet” drone, designed to intercept and destroy Russian drones in midair.
The system, developed by Ukrainian engineers, can detect enemy UAVs, track them, and carry out precision strikes to neutralize aerial threats.
