Ukrainian Armed Forces Strike Russian Oil Terminal in Occupied Crimea
Ukrainian forces successfully targeted a major Russian oil terminal in temporarily occupied Feodosia, Crimea, with a fire reported at the site according to the Ukrainian General Staff on October 7.
The strike was carried out by the missile units of Ukraine’s Armed Forces in coordination with other units.
In response to the fire at the terminal, Russian “authorities” in Feodosia declared a “technogenic emergency situation.” Igor Tkachenko, the so-called “head of the city administration,” confirmed the declaration following the fire caused by the Ukrainian strike.
Despite the damage, Russia’s Ministry of Defense claims that its air defense shot down 21 drones overnight, including 12 over Crimea. However, the terminal remains ablaze.
The Feodosia terminal is the largest in Crimea for handling oil products, which are crucial for supplying Russian army, and the extent of the damage is still being assessed.
Earlier, Ukraine hit that oil terminal 3 times. During the last attack, on March 3, the main fuel pumping pipeline was damaged and caught on fire.
In addition, Ukraine’s drone strike managed to halt operations of Gazprom Neft’s Moscow oil refinery.
