Ukrainian Border Guards Destroy $600,000 Russian R-416G-MS Communication Station in Luhansk

Ukrainian border guards from the “Phoenix" unit have successfully destroyed a rare mobile radio relay communication station, the R-416G-MS, in the Luhansk region, disrupting Russian communications.
This was reported by State Border Guard Service on March 25.

This advanced communication system, which has been in use by Russian forces since 2018, facilitated digital communication between front-line units and command posts. The R-416G-MS is valued at approximately $600,000.
The attack, confirmed in June 2024, marks the first known instance of the system being struck.
At the same time, Ukrainian forces have successfully regained control of nine settlements and approximately 440 square kilometers of territory during an ongoing counteroffensive operation on the Oleksandrivka axis, according to a statement from Ukraine's Air Assault Forces on March 26.
The operation, which has been underway since January 29, saw Ukrainian troops liberating seven settlements in the Dnipropetrovsk region and two in the Zaporizhzhia region. Additionally, follow-up operations cleared three more settlements of Russian forces, further securing the reclaimed territory.
“This advance has allowed Ukrainian units, primarily Air Assault Forces formations and supporting elements, to regain control of a significant stretch of territory in the sector,” the statement said.

The operation has not only provided strategic territorial gains but has also inflicted substantial losses on Russian forces. According to Ukrainian military officials, Russian casualties in the area total 3,676 personnel, including 2,653 killed, 1,023 wounded, and 11 captured.
As the counteroffensive continues, these territorial and tactical successes mark a significant step in Ukraine's ongoing efforts to reclaim occupied areas and disrupt Russian military operations.
Just a day, earlier, Ukrainian drone units conducted a cross-border strike in Russia's Belgorod region, targeting camouflaged armored vehicles and military equipment, according to Lasar’s Group, a division of Ukraine’s National Guard.

The operation, carried out in early March, involved Ukrainian drone bomber crews striking multiple Russian military assets positioned near the border. Lasar’s Group reported that Russian forces had concealed their equipment in a forest belt, likely to avoid detection by aerial reconnaissance.
Drone operators from Lasar’s Group used their unmanned aerial systems to conduct surveillance of the area, identifying targets and transmitting coordinates to strike drone crews for precision targeting. This operation highlights Ukraine's continued use of advanced drone technology to disrupt Russian military operations along the border.
