Ukrainian Drone Strike Reportedly Shuts Down Russian Fertilizer Plant Linked to Explosives Supply

A major fertilizer plant operated by EuroChem in Russia’s Krasnodar region suspended operations after an overnight drone attack early on September 25, according to ASTRA and regional officials.
A plant employee confirmed the site “came under attack” between roughly 02:30 and 03:30 and said work was paused while the grounds were inspected for explosive hazards, ASTRA reported.
A worker at the plant in Belorechensk, Krasnodar region, confirmed that during the night of September 25, the facility was attacked.
Sources in Russia’s Emergency Ministry specified that Ukrainian drones targeted the site between approximately 2:30 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. After the strike, the plant halted operations while the grounds were inspected for explosive devices, the sources said. The extent of damage remains unclear.

The operational headquarters of Krasnodar region confirmed that fragments of Ukrainian drones fell near “one of the major enterprises in the municipality,” causing a fire. However, officials did not name the facility.
“Around 140 employees of the enterprise were evacuated into a shelter,” the statement said. Authorities added that the fire covered about 50 square meters and was quickly extinguished. No casualties were reported. Special services and emergency workers remain at the site.
As Reuters previously reported, since the beginning of the full-scale war five large Russian chemical companies have supplied over 75% of the key chemicals for explosives and gunpowder plants, delivered by rail.
Earlier, it was reported that a drone attack struck the Astrakhan Gas Processing Plant, prompting suspension of fuel production and fire damage to a key processing unit.
