Ukrainian Drones Target Russian Oil Terminal in Oryol, Igniting Massive Fire
In the early hours of December 14, the Ukrainian forces targeted the ‘Stalnoy Kon’ linear production dispatch station in Russia's Oryol region.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that the operation was performed by units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' Special Operations Forces, in coordination with other components of the Defense Forces.
According to Ukraine's General Staff, this is one of the largest oil terminals on the outskirts of Oryol. The strike triggered a massive fire.
“The ‘Stalnoy Kon’ linear production-dispatch station is part of Russia's military-industrial complex, supplying oil products to the Russian army,“ wrote Ukraine's General Staff. “The results of the combat operation are being clarified.“
The Governor of the Oryol region, Andrey Klichkov, reported a fuel fire. According to him, the Russian air defense intercepted 11 drones. At the same time, Russia's Ministry of Defense claimed only five drones were shot down over the Oryol region. These claims could not be independently verified.
The Russian Telegram channel Astra, citing local residents, reported that an oil depot was targeted. Witnesses claimed that at least one storage tank was on fire.
Previously, on December 13, a massive fire erupted in a warehouse in Novosibirsk, Siberia, engulfing an area of 5,000 square meters.
