Fire Destroys Warehouse in Novosibirsk Linked to Russia’s Strategic Military Infrastructure
A large fire broke out in a warehouse in Novosibirsk, Siberia, covering an area of 5,000 square meters, Russian media outlet ASTRA reported on December 13.
Footage from the scene shows flames rising in the multi-story building with sections of the roof collapsing. The facility reportedly stored various goods, including plastic products.
However, Andrii Kovalenko, head of Ukraine’s Center for Countering Disinformation, reported that It was not just an ordinary warehouse, but a military facility.
“It belonged to a company that supported the activities of strategically important facilities and enterprises in Russia, including energy infrastructure and companies that manufacture explosive protection equipment,” Kovalenko wrote.
The cause of the fire remains unknown. Novosibirsk, Russia’s third-largest city, is located approximately 1,700 miles (2,800 kilometers) east of Moscow and about 1,860 miles (3,000 kilometers) from the Ukrainian border.
