Ukrainian Forces Rescue 10 Civilians During Liberation of Kucheriv Yar in Donetsk Region

Ukrainian paratroopers successfully conducted a rescue mission and evacuated 10 civilians during the recent liberation and clearing of the village of Kucheriv Yar in the Dobropillia direction, Donetsk region.
The operation was confirmed by the Command of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on October 23.
During the mission, Ukrainian troops utilized aerial reconnaissance to deliver a detailed note outlining the necessary procedures and the designated evacuation point for the local population.
Military officials acknowledged the significant challenges faced during the operation, noting that Russian occupiers frequently attempt to disguise themselves as civilians, which significantly complicates battlefield navigation and identification.
According to the command, the operation was successfully executed through the coordinated efforts of staff and paratrooper units, securing the safety of civilians in the combat zone.
“Our people are extremely important. Despite the difficult conditions of the fighting and the liberation of Ukrainian land from Russian occupiers,” the statement noted.

Ukrainian forces liberated the village of Kucheriv Yar in the Donetsk region on October 22. The 132nd Separate Reconnaissance Battalion of the Air Assault Forces published a video confirming the successful operation, showing the Ukrainian flag being raised over the settlement following heavy combat.
The village, situated 40 kilometers from Pokrovsk, had been occupied by Russian troops since August 11 during their push toward Dobropillia. Footage of the national flag over a damaged building serves as evidence of Ukraine regaining control.
Earlier, Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi reported that the situation along the front lines remains challenging. However, he stated that Russian forces have failed to achieve full strategic initiative, sustaining enormous losses for only minimal territorial advances.
