Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that Kyiv has successfully used its new long-range Neptune cruise missiles to strike targets inside Russian territory, releasing the footage of the missile launch on November 14.

“Overnight, our warriors successfully used ‘Long Neptunes’ against designated targets on Russian territory – and this is our entirely just response to Russia’s ongoing terror,” Zelenskyy said.

“Ukrainian missiles are delivering increasingly significant and precise results virtually every month. I thank everyone working on our missile program and giving Ukraine this accuracy and long-range capability. Glory to Ukraine!”

The system, developed under the Neptune-D program, represents a major leap in range and power compared to the original anti-ship version that famously sank Russia’s Moskva cruiser in 2022.

The RK-360L has a range of up to 1,000 kilometers (about 620 miles), nearly quadrupling the reach of the original Neptune, which had a 280-kilometer (174-mile) range.

The warhead has also been enlarged from 150 kilograms to 260 kilograms (around 570 pounds), allowing for deeper penetration and greater explosive power against hardened targets.

The missile measures roughly six meters (20 feet) in length without a booster—about 1.5 meters longer than its predecessor—and has a widened body diameter of 50 centimeters, up from 38.

The design allows engineers to adjust internal fuel capacity to further increase the warhead’s payload if required, offering flexibility for future upgrades.

Earlier, Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine’s domestically produced long-range strike systems were showing growing effectiveness.

According to the President, the locally developed Palianytsia rocket drone has already achieved ten confirmed hits on Russian military targets.
