Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the command post of the 4th Operational Brigade of the National Guard “Rubizh” on the Dobropillia front in eastern Ukraine, where he met with military personnel, Zelenskyy stated in a Telegram post on November 4.

The meeting focused on the current situation at the front, specifically the operational needs of the brigade and the production and centralized supply of drones, including ground robotic platforms and heavy bombers, as well as munitions for these systems.

Zelenskyy awarded state honors to the soldiers for their service and expressed his gratitude for their dedication in defending Ukraine. He emphasized the importance of taking care of one another and reaffirmed his confidence in the resilience of Ukraine’s defenders.

The President also met with the soldiers of the 25th Separate Dnieper Airborne Brigade, which is stationed near eastern town of Pokrovsk, also in eastern part of Ukraine, and holding the defense in that area.

“That is where the largest number of the occupier’s assault forces are currently concentrated, and where significant offensive activity is taking place. Fighting continues inside the city. This is their main objective—specifically, Pokrovsk,” Zelenskyy said on October 27.

He emphasized that every gain made by Ukrainian forces in this direction is a strategic contribution to the defense of the entire country.

During the visit, they discussed various important issues, including the frontline situation, logistics, rotations, the brigade’s experience, and the development of drone operations. Zelenskyy also spoke about the “18-24” contract program, the transition to a contract army, and the future recruitment and preparation of soldiers, including the digitalization of processes within the military.

President Zelenskyy also visited the command post of the 1st Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine “Azov” on the Dobropillia front, where he met with the soldiers defending the area alongside adjacent units. He listened to briefings from the military and discussed the situation on the frontlines, focusing on urgent needs, with particular attention to issues concerning weapons, scaling up drone production, and the needs of the brigades.

Zelenskyy thanked the soldiers for their daily service and protection of Ukraine, reaffirming that all issues raised would be addressed to strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities.

Previously, Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) reported significant battlefield gains in the Pokrovsk area, where its elite Alpha special operations unit carried out a series of successful missions against Russian forces over the past month.

According to SBU’s official statement, more than 1,500 Russian troops were eliminated in operations conducted by the Alpha unit around Pokrovsk and nearby settlements. Ukrainian special forces also destroyed 20 tanks, 62 armored vehicles, and nearly 40 artillery systems, including multiple rocket launchers used to shell the city.
