Ukrainian flags waved along the road to Mar-a-Lago on December 26 as President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Florida for a meeting with US President Donald Trump, with both leaders suggesting that a potential breakthrough on peace talks could be near.

While discussing the issue of a peace agreement, Ukraine has prepared a framework agreement—a draft of a basic document on ending the war. It contains 20 points addressing a ceasefire, security guarantees, Ukraine’s future for decades ahead, and other key issues that have been raised previously.

Since Russia’s full-scale invasion, Ukraine’s global image has undergone a profound transformation—from a victim of war to a frontline defender of freedom. This shift is, to a large extent, the result of Ukrainian diplomacy, which has successfully rallied democratic countries into a steadfast alliance.
