Daily Update: Russia Loses 1,830 Troops, 47 Artillery Systems in One Day

Russia lost an estimated 1,830 troops, three tanks, and 47 artillery systems over the past 24 hours, Ukraine’s General Staff reported on October 8.
The latest figures bring Russia’s estimated personnel losses since the start of its full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, to approximately 1,547,780.

Russian forces also lost four armored combat vehicles during the latest reporting period, bringing cumulative losses to 12,399 tanks and 25,502 armored vehicles. Another 47 artillery systems were recorded as lost, raising the overall estimate to 50,883, while two multiple-launch rocket systems and two air defense systems brought those totals to 2,194 and 1,692, respectively.
Ukraine also reported 1,702 operational-tactical UAVs lost over the past day, pushing the cumulative figure to 553,578. Another 12 unmanned ground systems were added to the tally, bringing estimated losses in that category to 2,890.

Russia’s aviation losses remained unchanged at 443 aircraft and 356 helicopters, while cruise missile losses stayed at 5,126. Naval losses also remained unchanged at 35 ships and boats and two submarines.
Another 667 vehicles and fuel tankers were recorded as lost, bringing the cumulative figure to 159,795, while six additional pieces of special equipment raised that total to 4,806.
Fighting remained intense across the front, with Ukrainian forces recording 224 combat engagements during the latest reporting period.
Earlier, reports emerged that Ukraine’s Defense Forces pushed Russian troops back near Hruzke and Novomykolaivka in the Dobropillia sector during a coordinated operation involving several Ukrainian units.
