According to an European Pravda correspondent on June 25, Orpo said Finland remains committed to supporting Ukraine’s defense efforts and highlighted the country’s continued military assistance since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion.
“Today, I am pleased to announce that my government has decided to allocate an additional €40 million to the PURL initiative,” Orpo said.
The Finnish prime minister noted that Finland’s defense support for Ukraine remains strong, adding that Helsinki has already delivered 33 military aid packages.

He stressed that Finland will continue to stand by Ukraine, including in its future role as a member of the European Union.
The announcement comes as Ukraine is expected to conclude more than 160 international agreements worth over €10 billion ($11.3 billion) during the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Gdańsk, according to remarks reported by Ukrinform.
The signing of the agreements is set to coincide with the official launch of the first multi-billion-euro installment from the European Union’s macro-financial assistance program.
Speaking at the opening of the two-day conference in Poland, Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko outlined the scale of the anticipated economic partnerships.

“Over the next two days of this conference, we expect more than 160 agreements worth in excess of €10 billion ($11.3 billion) to be signed,” Svyrydenko said, according to the agency.
She added that the event would also serve as the venue for the announcement of a €3.2 billion ($3.62 billion) payment, representing the first disbursement from a €90 billion ($101.7 billion) European Union loan program designed to support Ukraine’s economic stability and modernization efforts.
At the same time, Ukraine is set to receive an additional 15,000 long-range artillery shells from Denmark as part of a new military aid package, with a portion of the ammunition already delivered, according to Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense.
