Russia Unleashes Over 8,000 Drones and 230 Missiles Against Ukraine in Just One Month

Russian forces launched more than 4,000 jet-powered drones, approximately 150 ballistic missiles, and 80 cruise and air-launched missiles against Ukraine in October 2026, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.
Colonel Yurii Ihnat, head of the Communications Department of Ukraine’s Air Force Command, disclosed the figures during a national television broadcast on November 2, outlining the scale of Russia’s aerial attacks over the previous month.

According to Ihnat, Russian forces also deployed thousands of conventional drones and hundreds of other aerial munitions throughout October.
“In October, nearly 360 BanderoI/Dan-T munitions of this particular type were used. There were also 4,740 conventional drones, including Shaheds, Gerberas, and Parodiyas, as well as more than 4,000 jet-powered UAVs. These are the statistics for October,” Ihnat said.
He added that Russia continued to rely heavily on missile strikes alongside its extensive drone operations.

“As for missiles, the enemy used approximately 150 ballistic missiles and 80 cruise and air-launched missiles,” he said.
Addressing Ukraine’s air defense operations, Ihnat noted that Ukrainian forces had successfully intercepted a significant proportion of Russian cruise missiles and drones during the reporting period.
However, he acknowledged that intercepting ballistic missiles remains particularly challenging, citing shortages of specialized interceptor missiles for US-made Patriot air defense systems.

“Of course, when it comes to ballistic missiles, you understand that the situation is not what we would like it to be. We are, of course, short of interceptors for Patriot systems. I mean PAC-3 missiles, which are being discussed extensively today,” the Air Force representative said.
Russian forces targeted a medical facility in central Kherson with a drone on November 2, shortly after a temporary ceasefire arranged to facilitate a humanitarian evacuation operation came to an end.
The strike damaged several rooms inside the hospital, breaking windows and interior doors. Preliminary reports indicated that no casualties had been recorded, while authorities continued assessing the extent of the damage.
